If gluttony is a sin, than obesity would also be a sin

europe-vs-america

Fellow Christian Warriors and NOT ! I am sharing a message of concern and hope about personal health and obesity. It is a national and international problem and awareness needs to be the order of the day for all on this topic. It is open for discussion and I encourage you to do so and get involved. Below you will find a short banter between a fellow Christian Warrior, Sister Adrianne Kendell and myself. With several links for you to explore on the topic of what I am calling the Sin of Gluttony in Human Behavior… (+)

Adrianne Kendell – People think it’s a Game, but He is not realizing that one of the GREATEST areas where the WARFARE will be is IN the FOOD!!!!!!! OBESITY IS KILLING FOLKS. Left and right…..!!!

Archbishop Andrew Manley – One of the “seven deadly sins” is “gluttony “, which would entail over eating as part of the definition. It is most likely one sin that is most overlooked by mankind today. Do to the social climate for which we all live. Awareness and Action are required. Along with a willingness to change personal habits by seeking help to over come this trait of human behavior. So your right, Sister Adrianne Kendell in your statement. However are people in society today willing to change to this awareness and make the tough choice to do so? That is yet for them and God to know and to influence. It may come from comments like the ones posted here or by loving people around those individuals through intervention. Either way the process has to start and people have to take notice and get involved for the sake of all mankind. Gluttony is a sin so that would make obesity a sin as well. For the human body is the temple and home to God the Father in every human being and it needs to be attended to quickly… Bless you all and bless you Sister for posting this topic for discussion… Sincerely IHS and yours, Ab. Manley (+)

“Thy Holy Writ”

Psalm, # 133 verse 1 (NKJV)

1) Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!

————
Unity ? Oh people is it even possible ?
One part of me say yes and the other is not sure.

I say this because we as a nation are not united. In politics nor in faith. In theology and in doctrine neither are we united. Even when it comes to the word of God in the Holy Bible we have two separate versions, meaning the Catholic Bible and the Protestant Bible. And of those, I’ve lost count as to how many different versions and interpretations there are. And lets not forget the Apocrypha’s that have been omitted by both.

So I ask you to think about this verse and pray and meditate with me today, and even all this week, that God our Father will see and bless our meager attempts to come together for the common good. Pray with a true heart of compassion and respect for the concerns of our faith. Ask that, His Son and their combined Holy Spirit come and bless us all and bring us together in unity. Ask that, our unity be re-affirmed in His Son and in their Holy will, when needed most. But mostly that we hold fast the common fabric that holds all 34(+) thousand different Christian beliefs together.
Our faith in Him and His divine will for all peoples.

I believe then and only then we will be truly united in the will of God against evil and corruption that plagues mankind. That we can put aside our differences and in Christian Brotherhood and Sisterhood unite with Him, for the worlds sake.

Have a blessed day and week for that matter, in the love and bond that holds us all together in His sake and cause.

Sincerely yours in service to all mankind and Jesus our salvation,
Bp. Andrew R. M. Manley DD., O.S.A., O.S.P.

The Sacrament of Baptism

The Sacrament of Penance or known as Penitents

The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist also known as Communion

The Sacrament of Confirmation

The Sacrament of Matrimony which is Marriage

The Sacrament of Holy Orders other wise known as Ordination

The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick

sac

They are to be classified as an outward sign given and instituted by Christ as examples of giving grace. Jesus Christ is the sacrament. For he gave his life to save mankind. He and His gift to the world was an outward symbol of his love, grace, mercy, humility and humanity to the generations of mankind. It is fitting and proper that we continue to pass on through the generations these examples which are the foundation of all Christian Faith. It is Christ that intercedes with the giving of the sacraments which allows His grace to continually effluence mankind.

In the days of Pentecost, Christ sent the Holy Spirit to the Apostles so to help them to govern over the flock as He did. He was and still is today the good shepherd and as a good shepherd watches over and still tends to His chosen through the means of the Holy Sacraments.

In the Gospel of John, chapter 17, verses 18, 20 & 21 is quoted as “ As the Father has sent me, even so I send you”. Christ is the head of all Christian faith and churches. This is reaffirmed through the scriptures of the book of Colossians, chapter 1, verse 18 which states that, Jesus is the head of his body the church. So that makes the church itself a sacrament, instituted by Christ to give grace to all Peoples.

These sacraments are the holy examples given to the body of His church so to aid one to lead a good life in this world and help save mankind by giving us all the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Jesus put forth and instituted the sacraments as part of the Liturgical of early Christendom and are now tradition to be passed on for all future generations. We celebrate in the mysteries of Christ’ life. Through His sacrifice on the cross, in His dyeing and through His resurrection. The word Sacrament is derived from the Greek word for mystery and was translated in the Latin to be sacramentum, now in the English translation to be sacrament.

The following forgoing are exemplified in reference to Ephesians, chapter 1, verse 19, also chapter 3, verse 9 as well as in Colossians, chapter 1, verse 27. With the grace of salvation given to mankind by Christ’s Crucifixion are now formally expressed through the giving of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Communion, Penitent’s the Anointing of the Sick and Dyeing along with the granting of Ordination or as some call it, Holy Orders and Marriage. Keep in mind that the word Sacrament still means and is called the Mysteries of faith in tens of thousands of Christian Churches around the globe even today.

Many Christian Churches recognize these seven sacraments and hold steadfast on their inherent value or rather importance to what the early Christian leaders felt was to unify all followers of Christ’ and the Apostolic teachings. Think of it this way, if we were to break down the sacraments into say three distinct categories their inherent value can be understood in better relation as to why they are so important to all Christians. One, the initiation. The Initiations are the Baptism, Confirmation and Communion. Two, restorative or rather restore. The Restorative attributes are the sacraments of Penance as well as the Anointing of the Sick. I say restorative because both offer one healing and a renewal in life and even after life. That leaves us with two more and they are classified to some as inherent vocation. Which means that they are life altering in that they both unite two into one meaning to unify or join together unto the Holy Trinity. The are the vocation of Ordination / Holy Orders and Matrimony / Marriage.

This last one mentioned, Marriage is no less sacred as that of any other one of the six sacraments. It is for this reason and backed by the Holy Word of God, that marriage is and always will be, between a man and a woman. No other union is acceptable to the Holy Trinity and sacred values passed down to mankind through Christ, Himself. He made it what it is. Mankind has no right to perverse this sacred sacrament. No matter what man sanctions as rule in the land. God rules of the Church and the sanctity of these sacraments. Especially the sacrament of marriage.

sacrament1

The sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Ordination are given but once. Once for they are sufficient as a seal upon one’s soul as affirmed in the following scriptures. 2nd Corinthians, chapter 1, verses 21 & 22, Ephesians, chapter 4, verse 30 and the book of Revelations offer us a firm relation to it as a permanent seal in chapter 7, verse 3. There by making each sacrament an individual link to an external showing of public and even privet ritual or rite such as in a rite of passage, which it is. The symbolization of water used in baptism becomes a physical sensation that is felt by the element itself. By purifying and or cleansing ones person of past iniquities. It offers a renewed spiritual enlightenment of being “born again” pure and without sin.

This is essential for all persons of any era. Meaning the Past, Present and even Future. Every act of any of the sacraments offers a special ecclesiastical understanding and acceptance on the individual going through the ritual. It therefore becomes, the key which unlocks the proverbial closed heart and mind of mankind and opens it to the deity known as the Heavenly Father. It is the very basis of a foundation which builds on faith, communication and trust between man and the Holy Trinity.

It is no longer that man is alone in this world, but rather that through these rituals, one can begin to grow and see the world for what it really is and with a newness that only the grace of God on that person can give and even experience. It becomes for that person a form of continued growth in spirit and enabling them to begin to finally transform and unlock and let free, the true heart and soul that is unique to a lasting relationship between man and God.

The word baptism from the Greek means to immerse, dip or plunge. If the individual is an infant or adult it is customary to anoint them with Holy Oil. The Holy Oil is called the oil of catechumens. And so to give you a little better understanding of this I refer to the reference of Wikipedia which states that, the “oil of catechumens is to help strengthen the person about to be baptized, and prepare them for the struggle (ascesis) of the Christian life”. And that it “is the ointment of those preparing for baptism. It wards off what is evil. It brings wisdom and strength.” It also is to be blessed by a Bishop during the Holy Week and given to each congregation by the minister or priest. It is primarily used during baptism, and any occasion which requires a sanctified blessing. Such as with the other sacraments.

Allow me to also note here for further clarification, on the tradition of the baptismal rite. The ritual is usually witnessed by the parents, godparents, or individual making the profession of faith. The importance of the parents being present is to offer them an opportunity to reaffirm not only themselves of their own baptism but rather to solidify that they promise to bring the child up in the Christian way of life and guiding them along the path of life aiding the child to grow spiritually and firmly grounded in the Christian doctrine of the Holy Word of God. Not mankind and its many denominations. Though there is a place for all Christian denominations and non-denominations as long as what they teach is the true Holy word of God and not conjecture of theology or philosophy.

The presence of the “God Parent is to affirm that if, something untimely were to happen to the parents, that there will be another member of the Christian family (ie; fellow brother or sister in Christ, be they blood or not) that is trusted and respected by the parents and the church to step in if necessary and continue to raise the child within the organization and instruction of the body of Christ.

The traditional ritual of the baptism consists of a duly appointed and ordained minister immersing the baby or individual in water or by pouring water on their head, while saying “I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” Then the baby or elder individual is anointed with the blessed chrism oil.

The sacrament of baptism is the basis of the whole Christian experience. The very foundation if you will. It is a requirement and completely necessary for the saving grace of God to take place in one’s life. I refer to the Gospel of John, chapter 3, verse 5, which conveys that the person is a new in Christianity and is but a child no matter what age one takes the sacrament and then becomes by doing so, a child of God. Belong to Him and His family, for eternity.

I have to make mention here a note as to how special the rite of baptism truly is. In order to come to this phase of commitment with your spiritual newness, you must first be sent to Christ and accept all that He is and then you have to be accepted by Him (Christ Jesus), to warrant the calling to be baptized. For no one can go to Jesus unless the Father sends them and no one can come unto the Father unless Christ send them. That alone shows how special any individual (infant or adult) is to the Holy Trinity.

Also, before someones says, well the infant didn’t have a choice to accept what baptism is or even means and that it is not right to force it upon them. Wrong ! God and Christ with the Holy Spirit touched the parents and Godparents as well as the Church leaders. They, meaning the Holy Trinity and those called upon by them, had them ( the parents and godparents) bring forth the child and  given the sacrament. Remember, No One, means NO ONE, comes unto them, God or Christ unless they themselves invite you (infant or not) and then they send their loving and graciously merciful, Holy Spirit upon all of them and cause them to act and carry through with the ritual and rite of baptism on behalf of the said infant or child.

Well, for now I will leave you with these thoughts and over time I will write about the other six sacraments in detail as the Holy Trinity touches my heart to do so. However, for now this is enough meat for you to digest (so to speak). Until next time, may the love of God be with you and the calling of Jesus Christ upon your life lead you straight to Heavens gate and may it be opened unto you upon your arrival. In Jesus’ Holy and Blessed Name. I pray for you. Amen

God bless you always, sincerely your servant in Christ Jesus,

Time for a change. As heard from those in the know.

It is time for a change. A change for Life. A change for Justice. A change for those that can NOT speak for themselves. A change to do that which, we know is right in the sight of God and mankind. A change that is fair, balanced but for the right reasons NOT for self centered reasons. It is time for a change and the time is now.

Mankind makes bad decisions everyday without having a legal right to do so. Why than just give them a free pass to make one whenever they feel like it? That’s what we will be doing if we don’t take the time to stand up for those that can’t make a real choice if their lives depended on it. Those people that would rather listen to a friend, or worse yet not try to see what options are available to them, other than taking an innocent life.

No change today, no change tomorrow, no change next week, no change next month. No change in this election, will mean millions of innocent lives will have no choice of their own. No choice to speak for themselves. There is no time like the present and mostly, there is no time to waist.

So I ask you, how much time do you need to do what is right for future generations of your own bloodline. Yes, your human immortality will be at jeopardy. Is that your will? Is that what you want for your children and grandchildren? Your great grandchildren? Even your great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandchildren? I used 14 great grand children because that is the number in the genealogy of life from the beginning to the birth of Jesus Christ himself.

Just think what the world would be like, if someone in His genealogy had had an abortion anywhere along the line. Isn’t it time to be a real man, a real woman that has love for life and not free will to take life. Yes there is a choice and Jesus is waiting to see what choice you will make.

Would you condone murder by looking the other way? What if it was a member of your family that was murdered and a friend saw the whole thing happen and decided NOT to get involved. How would that make you feel. We see it most everyday play out in other peoples lives but it yet has hit close to home for many of us. Many of us to even care, that is.

Should that stop you from feeling sorrow for those that have lost their lives? We’ll whats the difference than of having the right to have an abortion, just because you don’t want the child? The bible states – Thou shall not kill but what is abortion then if not killing?

The answers are in you, and the question is, isn’t it time for you to do something about it. It’s not just a Christian issue, it is an issue about where humanity with be 25 or 50 years from now. That is if you don’t take the time to do what you know is right. Just remember what might be right for one person, may not be right for all persons. Weather it is their right or not…

The Path in Life…

Warriors, there are times that the paths in life are filled with obstacles, it is how we deal with those obstacles that will influence the final outcome of our journey in this life. So, as this photograph I took several years ago illustrates, we must all keep our focus on the prize. That being the gift of our Lord and Saviors suffering for each and everyone that seeks the kingdom of God above all else in their life. Until we meet again, may God bless you and stay with you as you venture the righteous path of eternal bliss with the whole family of God… With great humility and Christian love for all mankind, God bless and may He keep you on course to His pearly gates of heaven… Bp. Andrew.

An unrelated note of personal history yet to know something can help us to know everything :

This picture is taken in what is known as the Wheat field on the Battlefield of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I have meditated here many times over the last 30 + years of my life, because it was in this field on July 2nd 1863 that a great cousin of mine (Timothy Manley of the 63rd Irish Brigade) was mortally wounded in the battle that took place. When I would come to this portion of the battlefield I always seemed to be at peace within my heart and soul. Most likely because of this connection between Timothy and I, to this piece of hollowed ground.  I would contemplate what took place here as well as, what was taking place in my own personal life and the world around me.

The Holy Trinity, the saints (as I call them) and lost souls of this horrific killing field have aided me to realize many things over the years. It is a special place to come, that allows one to reflect and sort out what is important in one’s life. It also aided me into seeing what was important in my life and what might occur if I chose one path over another.

On this piece of hollowed ground over 6,000 men and boys were either wounded or dead in less than 2 1/2 hours of close quarter fighting. It even went hand to hand in the Rose Woods and on the Stoney Hill. The total area of this one battle took place in about a 25 acre piece of land. A killing field and a part of American history that would be just as major a place as any other battle that would set this country onto the path which it is on now.

Men have said that these men that fought and died here did not die here in vain, but that they gave there last full measure of life, fighting for what they believed in. A United Union. A union of states that still stands today and is mighty only because of their sacrifice as well as those that continue to sacrifice today for our freedom. Not only in this country but for others around the world.

The world. It is a much smaller place now than it was back in 1863 that fateful day. It never ceases to amaze me when I see what is happening to our world let alone our country. I do not feel that those men, like my cousin died so that we could lose our freedom of faith, but it seems to me that is exactly what we are doing, just for the sake of an argument. Of what is fair and what is not.

Freedom is a gift that has come at a very, very high price no money can buy it and no one can give it except for God. Yet mankind continues to raise the stakes of the cost of that freedom. A country and a world and it’s total population in lives, and in deaths of principles which stand for equality. Principles that are not necessarily the best path for a God-fearing nation or world. The things that effect all mankind need to be talked about in the open, although there is a time and place for closed-door meetings as well. As well as the outcome of those meetings are brought forth to the public and that outcome will benefit all humanity. Not just a few, or a few that feel they have all the right answers or even those that feel they have no rights at all and that the world is against them personally. It is not personal. It is only personal if one makes it personal.

We don’t, have the answers but our faith in Christ does. Yet many don’t care about their faith here, in the realm of Christianity which makes up the back bone of our freedoms here in the United States. Others faiths around the world set aside public time for prayer by the masses of their own belief. Yet Christianity and those that call them selves Christian are hypocrites to their own faith. Folks here in the U.S.A., that claim Christianity as their belief are blind to the concept of not wanting to offend, yet we are doing just the opposite, we are just rolling over and hoping things will get better. Well it won’t and those that don’t get involved are doomed to be servants to those that impose their personal will on the masses. Others in far off lands are willing to die for their belief no matter what it is. While we here in the U.S.A., are to busy complaining about self-centered ideals to give a damn about what else is important in life or even what God thinks.

This is where humanity across the board is making the biggest mistake of all. That being that this world is only ours for a short while and that it really belongs to the one that created it. God ! God is where we as Americans and Christian Americans at that, need to focus, for if we don’t, I am afraid that men like my cousin and maybe someone you know personally today, will have died in vain after all.

We need not wait to fight back, although we do need to fight back for the right reason. And that reason is obvious. That is if you are not ignorant to the belief of a supreme being that has control over all life. And that can send even the least of the that which offends, to hell or to heaven. The choice is yours to make. “W.W.J.D” ?

I know which path I chose and that is a righteous path that leads to the glory of God in the highest. Not through demands, not through disrespect, not through fear of terrorism and not because man says so. But through the love and peace that is Jesus Christ lest we forget, that Christ does not come to bring peace to the world, but rather the sword.

My sword is my voice, my writings and my ability to see past the smoke and mirrors, the saber rattling of empty words and above the noise of a disgruntled world. Jesus is the way ! And heaven is where we need to be looking. Not just the few, but the masses that claim Jesus Christ and Christianity are the truth and the light and the way to heaven and eternal peace. By the tens of hundreds of thousands we need to act as one truly united. Those that truly want what God wants. Not what man wants. Our priorities are all screwed up and we as a Christian Nation had best become united sooner than later because of it. For later, will be too late.

Sincerely yours in the servitude of our Lord, Jesus Christ, now and forever,

Bishop Andrew Robert Moses Manley DD., O.S.P., O.S.M., O.S.F.

Let Us Pray…

Christian Warriors it’s another sad day here in America. Many of you have heard about the senseless shooting that has killed so many and wounded so many more in Colorado today. Let us pray that those effected by this incident will find the answers and peace they seek.

( + ) Lord Jesus, you are Love, you are Peace, and you are Mercy. We beseech thee to look upon the victims you have called to you, an advocate for them that their place in heaven is assured enough to have them all, be able to stand with you by your side forever.

Please Father, look upon your children that are left behind to grieve, and mourn in the loss of those they loved and cared for. Stand by those family’s that are with others, in that part of time that is known as a waiting game for answers. Let them have patience to endure the long-suffering that is to come. And as they wait to find out what the condition is of their friends and loved ones, let it also be a time of inner spiritual reflection of positive emotions and loving memories that help carry them through this time of sorrow.

Lord, please give this Christian Nation the ability to stand up in support of that which is right and righteous in your eyes and in your sacred heart. Allow thy Holy Spirit to come upon all those that seek you and stand for love and forgiveness.

And lastly dear Father, Lord of all in Heaven and on Earth, allow this incident to help turn this nation back on a course that is of your will for all people. Let this or any act of violence not define us as weak or even meek in those eyes and hearts that want so badly to hurt this nation and it citizens. Grant us your shield of protection and out fit us with the armor that is your word and your will for all humanity.

Your children in Israel and other people’s, in other nations, have been dealing with incidents like this for decades. Let us take notice of their patients. Let us come together as a united world to fight back Satan and his henchmen where ever they lie in wait. Let their chance to cause havoc become uneventful in the lives of a tolerant nation of Christianity.

So brothers and sisters pray with me in the words our Lord and Savior gave to us as an example on how and what to pray in all times and in any event.

Our Father who art in heaven, Hollowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that have trespassed against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. – Deliver us Oh lord from every evil and grant us your mercy. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

May our Lord watch over us and keep us ever mindful as to the power of prayer and it’s ability to conquer evil and perform any miracle that is asked for in His, Holy name. And let us all remain united in giving our Lord, and Savior, our praise for the love He shows us each and everyday. Let the world take notice of an Americans resolve for proper justice in all parts of our world. Which we all call home. Amen…

Sincerely and with a heavy heart and mournful sorrow,

The question is, “Life for Jesus” and my answer is !

This was the question/statement,
“Life for Jesus-Lets see how many people we can find that are not ashamed to admit they love Jesus”.
I responded…
I’m not ashamed, never was, never will be.
But then again, not everyone is me.
So I reckon I’ll lift up those that are on the fence and that they see the light, and feel the loving hand of our lord and savior.
Then, we all will be elated for reaching their decision to walk with God in their heart forever. And, as their notice of their rebirth reaches the heights of heaven, and it is placed by special delivery into our Fathers hands, the celebration will be jubilant, so loud will be the joy of the saints that it shall shake the gates of Hell, letting those know that it could have been them that the angels rejoice for, but no it is a never ending reminder of the indecision of their own free will that has placed them in the bowls of perdition forever.
With that said, the one that makes the right choice will see their life take on new meaning and they can rest a sured that they are not alone, ever. For now they are family. And what a big family it…. .
Thank you God for excepting another poor sinner into your loving arms and may they remain with you for an eternity… This is my daily prayer for myself and for each and everyone of you…
What about YOU????
